If you’re looking for an ideal hot spot (both in a literal and figurative sense) to make your perfect spring break getaway dreams come true, Southern California checks all the boxes. From splashing around at the beach to dancing the night away, Southern California is a great place to escape the cold and stress. Here are some suggested local activities outside of Disneyland to ensure you make the most of your week-long vacation in Anaheim.

Beaches Galore

Hang ten or just hang out at some of the finest spring break beaches throughout Southern California. Newport Beach offers a quiet escape, with plenty of activities that will add life to your vacation. Learn how to surf or take a sunset cruise and bask in the breathtaking surroundings. With several beaches and parks within range, you can take part in aquatic sports, hiking and fishing, or shoot some hoops. Treats for all ages are in abundance, so take the kids out and explore nature’s many wonders!

There’s also Huntington Beach, AKA Surf City USA, with a shoreline spanning 10 uninterrupted miles of wide, sandy beach. It not only offers you unlimited chances to surf, but gives you opportunities to bike along the ocean, enjoy whale and dolphin watching cruises, and much more.

A Shopaholic’s Paradise

The nearby Outlets at Orange showcases great outlet shopping, delicious food, and fun entertainment. Fashion Island in Newport Beach is an open-air mall boasting live music on weekends, plus coastal dining and shopping experiences backed by ocean views and palm trees. In addition, there is the Irvine Spectrum Center where you can let your little ones ride the Giant Wheel, carousel, or play in the Splash Pad Fountain. South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa is the largest mall on the west coast. It features award-winning restaurants providing top worldwide cuisines, as well as several high-end designer boutiques.

Experience Nightlife

In Anaheim, enjoy steak, wine, and seafood at The Ranch Restaurant & Saloon. Once you’ve finished your meal, hit the dance floor and join the fun with a good ole’ two-step or some country line dancing until the early morning.

If you love to laugh, head over to Irvine Improv Comedy Club, where hilarious comedians will add some cheer to your stay in Southern California.
