Southern California is a true paradise, and it makes a wonderful vacation spot at any time of year. Whether you’re traveling with a partner, friends, or children, there is lots to see and do.

Here are some of the best spots to visit for your next vacation to sunny SoCal.

Even if you don’t love Lego, you’ll want to bring the kids to Legoland California. Though there’s certainly something here for “kids” of all ages, their target demographic is 2 to 12-year-olds.

Legoland®  California is split up into nine different areas, plus an aquarium and water park. The park boasts plenty of rides and attractions for the kids, as well as an opportunity to purchase any and every type of Lego product you could ever want.

There’s an XBOX family game space and 4D cinema for the tech and movie buffs, and there are playgrounds everywhere for the little ones. Plan for a rest and fresh lunch at the restaurant overlooking Miniland and you’re in for a fun but relaxing day.

If you’re headed to Disneyland® , and you’re tight for time, you’ll want to plan ahead: the park is made of 8 different “lands” to explore, and it’s a whopping 85 acres – that’s too much ground for one day!

If you’re near Tomorrowland in the morning, grab a FastPass for Space Mountain and while you’re there, check out the Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage. Another idea for morning or midday is Fantasyland and to check out Peter Pan’s Flight and Alice in Wonderland, two classic attractions that continue to delight audiences even after 60 years.

Some good ideas for late morning or midday include the Roger Rabbit Toontown Spin and New Orleans Square, which feature a Pirates of the Caribbean section, as well as the Haunted Mansion. And if you’re going for the big rides, it’s best to save Splash Mountain, Space Mountain, and the Matterhorn for the evening.

The San Diego Zoo

The San Diego Zoo is one of the best in the U.S. Located about 30 miles north of San Diego, this non-profit organization operates several different institutions, including several research and conservation initiatives. The zoo is home to over 3,500 rare and endangered animals and over 700,000 plants. There’s a ton to check out here, and you can do so via a variety of safari tours.
