Considering heading to Anaheim to experience a Disneyland® 4th of July? You’re in luck, because Disneyland® pulls out all the stops for Independence Day with a mix of patriotic magic and good ol’ fashioned Disney® fun. From themed treats to nighttime fireworks and all sorts of other surprises decked out in red, white, and blue, this is one summer holiday that feels a little more special when you’re celebrating it at the Happiest Place on Earth. Here, we’re sharing all the important details about planning a July 4th visit to Disneyland® in 2025.

Quick note: in 2025, the holiday falls on a Friday, giving most people a three-day weekend. Make your 4th of July Disneyland® plans extra early!

When and Where to Watch the Fireworks

The star of the show is, without a doubt, the Disneyland® 4th of July fireworks. For one night only, the park’s traditional fireworks display is swapped out for a patriotic version featuring red, white, and blue pyrotechnics synced to classic American tunes everyone knows and loves.

This year, the Disneyland® fireworks 4th of July display is expected to begin around 9:30 p.m., weather permitting of course. Main Street, U.S.A. is the most popular viewing area, but there are also great spots in front of “it’s a small world” and all along the Rivers of America. Crowds gather especially early on Independence Day, so be sure to claim your viewing spot at least an hour in advance if you want a front-row view. And if you can’t? Remind yourself that it’s all part of the experience.

Red, White & Delicious: 4th of July Dining Around the Park

It’s no secret that Disneyland® goes all in when it comes to special limited-time snacks and meals for any holiday or event. 4th of July is no different, so expect to see everything from star-spangled churros to berry-topped funnel cakes, festive sundaes, flag-themed cake pops, and red, white, and blue candied apples. Dining locations across both Disneyland® and Disney California Adventure® often roll out patriotic menu items for the long holiday weekend.

While an official 2025 food guide hasn’t been released yet, previous years have included themed cupcakes, all-American BBQ plates, and layered red, white, and blue cocktails for adults. Be sure to check the Disneyland® app on the day of your visit for a real-time list of seasonal offerings and mobile ordering options.

What to Expect During Disneyland® Fourth of July

Independence Day is one of the busiest days of the summer season at the park (and remember, this year Disneyland® on 4th of July is a Friday), so it’s important to plan ahead. Is Disneyland® crowded on 4th of July? Yes, very, so arrive early to take advantage of shorter lines in the morning, and make theme park reservations well in advance.

In addition to the fireworks and themed food, you might catch patriotic music playing throughout the park, special flag-raising ceremonies in Town Square, and characters sporting festive red, white, and blue outfits. Cast Members often pass out mini American flags at the entrance, adding a little extra cheer to your day. Don’t forget to wear your stars and stripes!
