If you’re planning a family vacation to Disneyland® with your teenagers, this article is for you. Teens tend to come with their own set of rules and habits; they eat more, play more, and love social media. With this in mind, here are some great tips for visiting Disneyland® with older kids and teens that will ensure memories last a lifetime.

Tech Support

These days, kids rely on the internet for nearly everything. Their smartphones are always open, capturing everything from big events to what was for lunch. Luckily, when you visit Disneyland® with a teenager, you are covered. There are device charging stations throughout the Park, such as at the locker facility on Main Street USA. However, it’s always a good idea to bring battery backup cases.

Plus, there is free WiFi at designated locations throughout the Park. There are a total of 13 hotspots in nearly every major section of the Park, including the new Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.

Instagrammable Spots

Disneyland® has made it especially fun for Instagram-focused patrons to get those unforgettable shots with “Instagram Walls” in key areas all over the Park. Pixar Pier is a wall-worthy locale with several backdrops, like the Buzz Lightyear Wings. What a fun way to capture your Disney memories with your teens.

Utilize FastPass

The FastPass system helps visitors maximize their time on rides and minimize their time in lines. Teens especially will want to get a spot on the top rides, including:

  • Guardians Of the Galaxy – Mission: Breakout!
  • The Incredicoaster
  • Grizzly River Run
  • Radiator Springs Racers
  • Toy Story Midway Mania
  • Pixar Pal-A-Round
  • The Animation Building

FastPass holders will cover more ground and enjoy more attractions in much less time. If your teen is 14 or older, they can explore the Park without adult accompaniment, so they can experience every ride they desire while Mom and Dad go at their own pace.

Hungry High Schoolers

Disneyland® boats a large number of restaurants and places to eat that will satisfy even the pickiest of eaters. Many restaurants also take reservations in advance, such as Blue Bayou. Smokejumpers Grill and Boardwalk Pizza & Pasta also accept reservations. Plus, the Disneyland® App is very handy to order food ahead so it is ready when you arrive!

The Tours

Do you want your teens to experience the royal treatment? You and your family can book a private VIP tour of the Park with priority access to all rides and attractions. You will also enjoy exclusive seating at parades and shows. If you’re looking for the ultimate Disneyland® experience, this is it!

They Grow Up So Fast

For high schoolers, there is no other event in their young lives quite like graduation. Disneyland® has this covered too. Special grad-night tickets can be purchased for high school seniors to celebrate their accomplishments in true Disney style. Ticket holders will enjoy visiting one or both Parks, along with a special Grad Nite Party at Disney California Adventure Park® from 9 PM to 2 AM on select dates.

There is simply nothing like the Happiest Place on Earth. Book your stay close to the Park at Camelot Inn & Suites today.
