Disneyland® during the fall is a magical place and, if you’ve never been there during the autumn season, now is the time to plan a trip! So, what’s special about Disneyland® in the fall? Find out below.

What to expect during your Disneyland® Fall Vacation

The Disneyland Resort® transforms in September and October to become a charming, colorful getaway full of little details that make the season feel extra magical. The weather is usually cooler than in the summer, so late September to early November is a great time to go. Keep in mind that there are certain ticketed, after hours events that could alter normal park hours – so be sure to plan ahead!

Disneyland® Fall Rides & More

Enjoy these revamped rides and areas of the park that are decorated for fall and Halloween, such as:

  • Haunted Mansion Holiday — A seasonal favorite, the Haunted Mansion Holiday features a macabre makeover to this Disneyland® staple with festive decor inspired by Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas.
  • Guardians of the Galaxy Monsters After Dark — Help the Guardians rescue Groot from terrifying creatures that run wild throughout The Collector’s Fortress in this seasonal spin on the beloved thrill ride located at Disney California Adventure Park®.
  • Plaza de la Familia and Día de los Muertos – Listen to the festive Day of the Dead themed music and see some of your favorite characters from the movie Coco.

Disneyland®  Fall Events

Some of the best events at Disneyland®  are during the fall, like:

The Main Street Pumpkin Festival

Disneyland®’s Main Street storefronts put up over 300 pumpkins that are hand-carved to resemble favorite Disney®  characters like Mickey, Goofy, and Donald Duck. Don’t miss the giant Mickey pumpkin – it’s the perfect photo opportunity.

The Famous Oogie Boogie Bash

Every fall, Disney California Adventure Park® hosts their famous Oogie Boogie Bash – a creepy, kooky, and fun-for-all-ages ticketed event that transforms the park into an otherworldly Halloween adventure. Here you’ll find Villain’s Grove, Immersive Treat Trails, the Frightfully Fun Parade, and Mickey’s Trick or Treat. You can also get limited-time-only keepsakes and souvenirs to take home.

Unfortunately, the Oogie Boogie Bash 2023 is sold out, so now is the time to plan ahead for 2024! Tickets typically go on sale at the end of June – stay tuned!

Pluto’s Pumpkin Pursuit

Pluto’s Pumpkin Pursuit is an exciting scavenger hunt for kids of all ages. You can purchase the map and stickers from select stores in the Downtown Disney® District and search the area for hidden, decorative pumpkins inspired by your favorite Disney® characters. Don’t forget to turn your map and stickers into the redemption spot before you leave for a festive keepsake!
