Ring in the Holidays at Disneyland | Celebrate 70 Years of Disney®
The only thing more magical than Disneyland®? Experiencing it during the holidays. From mid-November through early January, the park transforms into a true wonderland, filled with lights, music, parades, and seasonal treats. This year is extra special: 2025 marks Disneyland®’s 70th anniversary, making this season a once-in-a-lifetime celebration.
Limited-Time 70th Celebration Magic
Guests will see nods to rich Disney® history throughout the park, from special decorations on Main Street, U.S.A. to commemorative holiday merch (red and green glitter Santa ears, anyone?). Even the iconic parades and fireworks include anniversary touches, combining nostalgia with the festive cheer the park is renowned for.
When Do Disneyland® Holiday Events Start?
The holiday season at Disneyland® officially kicked off on November 14, 2025, running through January 7, 2026. During this timeframe, visitors get the rare opportunity to experience both seasonal overlays and 70th anniversary extras.
Holiday Favorites Inside Disneyland®
It’s a Small World Holiday
This classic receives one of the park’s most elaborate, most anticipated transformations every year. Over 400,000 lights illuminate the exterior, while inside, guests enjoy holiday music, festive scenes, and even themed scents representing cultures around the world. Returning in 2025: favorites like peppermint in Europe and tropical coconut in the South Seas.
Haunted Mansion Holiday
Jack Skellington once again takes over the Haunted Mansion in a mashup of Halloween and Christmas – the “Hall-o-days!” Expect clever new details for 2025, including an updated gingerbread house centerpiece in the ballroom. This is one of the most popular attractions during the holidays, so come prepared to wait, or better yet, consider grabbing a Lightning Lane pass.
“Believe… in Holiday Magic” Fireworks
The beloved nightly fireworks show gets a holiday twist with seasonal music, sparkling pyrotechnics, and a magical snowfall over Main Street, U.S.A. There’s no better way to end your festive days at Disneyland®.
Disneyland®’s Candlelight Processional
Held the first weekend of December, this tradition has been part of the park since 1958. A full choir and live orchestra perform holiday classics while a celebrity – usually the star of a recent Disney® movie – narrates the Christmas story. This long-running event is so well-executed that many visitors plan their entire trip around it.
Holiday Fun at Disney California Adventure®
Across the esplanade, Disney California Adventure® Park embraces the season with unique, fun-filled experiences of its own.
- Disney ¡Viva Navidad!: A lively street fiesta with dancers, musicians, and giant puppets celebrating Latin American holiday traditions. Don’t miss Three Kings Day on January 6, a special homage to the 3 Wise Men.
- Festival of Holidays: Food marketplaces, live music, and multicultural performances showcase diverse holiday traditions from around the world.
- Cars Land: Each attraction gets a holiday overlay, with whimsical touches like “Luigi’s Joy to the Whirl” and “Mater’s Jingle Jamboree.”
