Mother’s Day honors every kind of mom in your life: your own mother or mother figure, of course, but also grandmothers, aunts, sisters, and even your adult daughters who are now moms themselves. If you’re looking for a way to celebrate these special women that feels joyful, memorable, and a little unexpected, too, consider planning a Disneyland® Mother’s Day. It’s a heartfelt way to say thank you—with a little magic and pixie dust thrown in.

Why Celebrate Mother’s Day at Disneyland®?

For starters, it flips tradition upside-down. Moms usually plan the vacations, book the reservations and make the magic happen. This time, you get to do it for her. Surprise Mom with a rare day designed entirely around her favorite rides, treats, and characters. The real gift here is that she gets to simply enjoy it.

Spring is also one of the loveliest times to visit Disneyland®, with beautiful, mild temperatures and blooming flowers. While the weekend is typically slightly busier than those surrounding it, especially for brunch, it’s nothing like peak spring break or holiday crowds.

What to Know About Disneyland® on Mother’s Day

Free Flowers

One of the park’s sweetest traditions is free flowers. On Mother’s Day itself, tables at the entrances to both Disneyland® Park and Disney California Adventure greet visitors piled high with complimentary carnations for moms. It’s a simple gesture, but that ear-to-ear grin as she receives a flower walking in sets the tone for the entire day.

Disneyland® Mother’s Day Dining

This holiday is all about pampering, and dining out should follow suit. Think sit-down meals with tableside service, where moms don’t have to lift a finger, and their only job is to choose what sounds the most delicious. In-park dining reservations open exactly 60 days in advance and fill quickly for Mother’s Day, so plan ahead. If you miss out, you may still have a chance. Keep checking for cancellations, and in the worst case, you can try your luck with walk-up availability—but please, for Mom’s sake, have a backup plan.

Inside Disneyland®, Plaza Inn hosts a special Mother’s Day brunch with Minnie Mouse on both days of the holiday weekend. Expect appearances from beloved Disney characters with a spotlight on female favorites, a photo package, a special pin for Mom, and complimentary Mother’s Day buttons for everyone. The buffet typically includes a few limited-time holiday desserts as well. Note: you’ll need both a park ticket and reservation to attend.

No park reservation? Goofy’s Kitchen at the Disneyland® Hotel and Storytellers Café at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa both offer a special Mother’s Day character brunch and dinner. These buffets often include special holiday menu items, and Storytellers has the added bonus of a direct entrance into Disney California Adventure.

For an elegant splurge (she’s worth it, right?), Napa Rose at the Grand Californian Hotel offers its classic princess breakfast experience. This is an especially magical choice for moms with young daughters. This traditional three-course meal features well-known princesses, storytelling and photo opportunities, with optional champagne for adults.

Beyond meals, keep an eye out for limited-time treats throughout the park. Intricate tulip cake pops and beautifully decorated Mickey-shaped cookies with “Mom” written in icing have made appearances in the past.
