Tips and Tricks For Bringing Toddlers to Disneyland
Extensive planning goes into family vacations, especially when toddlers or young children are involved. Follow these tips and tricks for a stress-free getaway to the Happiest Place on Earth.
Find Accommodations Close to the Park
You will want to book your stay in one of the closest hotels to Disneyland. The Camelot Inn & Suites puts you right in front of the action, literally. The hotel is located directly across the street from the Park, and it’s only a six-minute walk to the gates. Close proximity gives you the freedom to walk back to the hotel at any time for a nap or meal break.
Get Your Tickets Online
Buying your Disneyland tickets online means you can avoid the ticket line go straight to the Park Entrance. Guests also have the option to purchase tickets at the front desk of the Camelot Inn & Suites.
Bring Some Snacks
Pack your own snacks in your diaper bag. When the kids are hungry or bored, you will have a tasty distraction at the ready. This will also save you from buying treats in the Park, which can be expensive.
Buy Your Souvenirs Beforehand
Souvenirs in the Park are expensive, and the shops often have long lines. It’s wise to get those character costumes, toys, and Mickey Ears beforehand. Visit The Cove – located at our sister property, Tropicana Inn and Suites, right next door for a selection of Disney collectibles.
Parades All Day
Kids have a chance to see their favorite characters and watch as colorful, fun, and all around fantastic floats go by. Parades occur each day and keep the kids engaged while giving you time to regroup for the next attraction.
Theme Park Survival
Bring plenty of sunscreen and reapply often, even on overcast days. Hats for everyone are also advised. With the hot sun comes dehydration. So, it’s best to bring your own refillable water bottles and sippy cups.
Map Out Your Day
One way to get the most out of your trip to Disneyland is to map out your family’s favorite spots in the days before you hit the Park. Take some time to circle the top attractions, note the schedules for shows, and plan your route.
Bypass Long Lines
Take advantage of the Disney FASTPASS® Service to get the most out of your days there. A FASTPASS can cut a 120-minute line down to 5–10 minutes.
Just look for a FASTPASS distribution sign at the entrance of an attraction you wish to ride. If the return time works for you, insert your valid Disneyland admission ticket or Annual Passport into the FASTPASS machine. Take the receipt from the machine and return at the designated time to scan your pass and ride after a much shorter wait!
Magic Morning
One “Magic Morning” is included with any 3, 4, or 5-day ticket purchased from the Camelot Inn & Suites. This grants you access to the Park one full hour early.
Good planning and smart packing will help you and your family get the very most out of the Happiest Place on Earth. If you’re looking for hotels with family suites near Disneyland, book your stay at Camelot Inn & Suites.
