Disneyland® Easter Guide | Best Activities & Nearby Hotels
Every season at Disneyland® brings its own special magic, and Easter is no exception. While the holiday isn’t quite as elaborate as Christmas or Halloween in the park, it’s the perfect time to experience the seasonal decor, festive treats, and unique character meet-and-greets Disney® executes so perfectly—all without massive holiday crowds. Plus, spring means near-perfect weather and beautiful floral displays. Here’s everything you need to know to plan a perfect Disneyland® Easter getaway.
Easter Egg-stravaganza
One of the highlights of the park’s spring celebration is the Easter Egg-stravaganza, a fun scavenger hunt for hidden Disneyland® Easter eggs. Guests can purchase a special map and sticker sets at several locations, search for the eggs throughout the park, then redeem their completed maps for a special prize. There are even dedicated maps for California Adventure and Downtown Disney®, so you can get in on the action even if you’re visiting just one park. Be sure to look out for the super talented cast members who decorate the eggs, too, meticulously painting them by hand!
Easter Treats
No holiday at the “Happiest Place on Earth” is complete without themed goodies. Special treats pop up throughout the park, with fan-favorite options like handmade chocolate-covered peanut butter eggs (Disneyland®’s take on the classic Reese’s egg), pastel-colored cake pops and rice cereal treats, beautifully decorated Easter sugar cookies and cupcakes, and limited-edition macarons.
Brunch and Dinner Buffets
One of the most popular Easter traditions at Disneyland® is the special holiday brunch and dinner buffets. Select restaurants offer special menus featuring everything from classic eggs Benedict and Mickey-shaped waffles to slow-roasted prime rib and decadent desserts. Although each year the exact offerings vary, Storytellers Cafe in the Grand Californian Hotel & Spa hosts an Easter dinner buffet on Easter itself and Goofy’s Kitchen at Disneyland® Hotel has a popular Easter brunch and dinner buffet in the week or so leading up to the holiday. These special meals are in especially high demand, so reservations are a must. Book through the Disneyland® app or website as early as possible to secure your spot.
Springtime Roundup Character Encounters
For character enthusiasts, Disneyland® Easter means meeting some rare favorites. During the beloved Springtime Roundup, you’ll find a rotating lineup of familiar bunnies and friends. Roger Rabbit is the undisputed star, making his one and only park appearance of the year. Other characters you may encounter include Thumper, the White Rabbit from Alice in Wonderland, Mickey and Minnie in their Easter best, and Pluto sporting a pair of bunny ears. And of course, you’ll see the Easter Bunny at Disneyland®, as he makes a few special appearances!
Tips to Make the Most of Your Disneyland® Easter Visit
- Reserve early: Disneyland® requires park reservations and Easter typically falls during spring break, making it a busy time to visit. In 2025, the holiday also coincides with the last weekend of the extremely popular California Adventure Food & Wine Festival, so book your reservations as soon as possible. This goes not only for park entry reservations, but dining reservations as well.
- Consider a Lightning Lane Pass: Cut down on wait times at popular attractions and rides by purchasing a Lightning Lane Pass. These skip-the-line passes are available for single or multiple rides.
- Take advantage of extended hours: Arriving at rope drop (first thing in the morning) or staying late in the evening allows you to experience more rides with shorter wait times. Plus, you can avoid the peak heat of the day.
